  Queen's Badge Presentation

Provost Stephanie Young was invited along to a special Boys’ Brigade presentation recently in Galston.

Six members of East Ayrshire’s battalion received the Queen’s Badge which is the highest award that may be gained by a member of the Boys’ Brigade. The Queen’s Badge is a balanced programme which provides opportunities for members to develop some of their skills and interests and try out new things.

To gain the Queen’s Badge, members of the Boys’ Brigade must undertake work in the following areas: Leadership in The Company; Service – Outside the Company and Church; and Get Active – Activities – Expedition, Skill or Physical Recreation.

Provost Young said: “It was a wonderful evening and for me a pleasure to have been a part of the award ceremony. The boys have all worked very hard to reach this level and should be very proud of themselves.”
