Prestwick is located south of Kilmarnock, in Ayrshire, 32 miles by road south of Glasgow city centre. By rail, the airport link takes 45 minutes from Glasgow city centre.
Prestwick is the fastest growing airport in Scotland, and one of the fastest-growing in Europe with 2.6 million passengers using the airport each year. This is largely due to the patronage of low-cost airline Ryanair, who transport a multitude of weekenders and holidaymakers to England, Ireland, Northern Ireland and the rest of Europe.
Travelling to Loudoun Valley has never been easier with new fast train and bus links to and from Kilmarnock's main stations.
Accommodation is plentiful throughout the area and where ever you choose to stay you will always be central to many of the Historic sites, museums, castles, parks, sport facilities, walks and cycling courses, golf, skate parks, bowling and swimming.
There are more varied activities all within a few mile radious and all can be found with ease.
Shopping in the area can be rewarding with some interesting and unique shops, selling goods that you will not find anywhere else.
Eating out has become a diner’s paradise with varied restaurant's offering some great fare and at competitive prices.
From this area, travel west and you will reach the West coast of Scotland by car and reach many sandy beaches all within about 30-40 minutes. Travel east and in a short drive Stirling, Perth or Edinburgh are only a short drive away.
